| | | Mel Waters | | | | Melvin Waters is an associate pastor of the 12,000 member New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He pastors over 300 of the church's 1,000 small groups, having started as a small group leader himself. He is the "go to guy" on issues of ceremonial procedures for the church, directing numerous funerals, and performing many unique types of services (including a simultaneous triple memorial service and wedding service ceremony). A native of Kinston, North Carolina, Mel was raised to know, love and serve God from his early childhood. After graduating from Woodington High School in Kinston, he enlisted in the US Air Force. During his time in the military, he completed work in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Chapman University in Orange, California. After retiring from the Air Force, Mel married the former Betsy Garland and completed work on a Master of Arts degree in Practical Theology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is presently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from The King's Seminary in Van Nuys, California. Mel resides in Colorado Springs with his wife Betsy and their two sons, Matt and Mark. | | | | |
