| Cast: 4 men, 4 women | | Performance Time: 12 minutes | | Topics: Humor, Reaching Out to Others, Witnessing | | Encountering one of God's special messengers (an angel) on the ledge 88 stories high, a janitor is taught that witnessing is not just the pastor's job. The janitor attempts to talk the would-be jumper inside. Unable to coax him back to safety, the janitor joins him on the ledge, hoping to save his life by persuading him not to jump. The situation becomes complicated by the janitor's fear of heights, the addition of three ladies from a society club, a newspaper reporter, and a pastor-all seeking to help. This sketch takes off on the old telephone game, where each person conveying a statement to another changes it just a bit, hence the ending sentence is very different from the initial, leading to confusing and humorous conclusions. | | Performance Royalty: Nonroyalty | | |
