His father is ill with Alzheimer's disease. His wife, Joy, and their daughter enter, returning from a dress rehearsal for the daughter's ballet recital. Steve's spirits are temporarily lifted by his daughter's excitement and enthusiasm, but after she leaves, he reveals his deep pain and frustration to his wife regarding his father's degenerating condition. He is also afraid that in 30 years, his daughter will witness him in the same condition. In a touching conclusion the daughter returns and tries to comfort her dad. Steve questions how a "god" could allow such things as Alzheimer's but is surprised by his daughter's response. | | Performance Royalty: Nonroyalty | | |
