The intention of this script is to find humor and education from two very different views of Baptism. John has trouble seeing baptism as a significant step in a Christian's life. Phil thinks it's too significant - for others, that is. Baptism, for him, is an act that convinces others of your spirituality, not a personal, surefooted step towards God.
