The Excel series from Lillenas Publishing is excited to introduce a new and improved vocal format for this unison/2-part series. As market dynamics continue to change and innovate, we want to continue to provide not only the best songs and arrangements for the Excel series, but we also want to service you, the customer, better with the editorial layout. The traditional typesetting (music layout) of this series has had a more classic SATB (4-part) writing design. As we have consulted with many churches to determine what is most desired for this series, we are introducing this new simplified format going forward. The new format creates fewer page turns, making rehearsals go smoother and faster.
This new vocal format simply gives you a 2-part vocal in the treble clef. The top music notes will be sung by the sopranos and tenors. The lower voice notes will be sung by the altos and basses. The notes your choir sings is the same as the old format, so your overall sound will not change. The main desire for the improvement to the overall look is to create a resource that provides not only great spiritual content but also ease of use.
