Teaching Creation To Kids |

The Creation Story Genesis 1 - Genesis 2:3
I teach a preschool choir at my church and have had a little trouble finding material to use in a parent presentation. Last year, I found something that brought great success for the children, for me, and for the Lord. This was Great Big Praise for Younger Children. (You might want to also look at Great Big Praise for Older Children depending on their age.)
I took the songs from the creation portion of the collection and used a storybook about the creation to weave a simple musical. Then I used my computer to create simple pictures about the creation and we glued the pictures on paper plates as illustrations. (The paper plates also had a Popsicle stick attached.)
I actually brought my Karaoke machine to choir and had simple lines for my preschoolers to say. (I told them the lines as they came to the microphone.) For instance as a child said, "God created the heavens," that child held up a paper plate picture of the heavens. After they said their part, they placed their paper plate Popsicle stick in a long piece of Styrofoam, which was in front of the choir. This made a great picture story for the children. We put pictures of God?s creation all over the wall and made animal t-shirts from a computer picture and t-shirt transfers.
I recommend that you venture out into your own creativity. You will see God bless you abundantly! May God bless you and thanks for working for our Lord with children.
Living for Jesus!
