The contest between Elijah and a priest of Baal. "Woe to all who follow false gods!" says Elijah. Though the priest of Baal prays and slashes himself, no fire is sent. Only the true, living God was able to send enough fire to consume everything: the wood, the sacrifice, the stones and soil.
